This RV park is just north of Myrtle Beach, SC, and from there we took short trips to Myrtle Beach, Ocean Isle Beach, Cape Fear. Also visited a winery near Sunset Beach. Curran's daughter, Sarah flew in with her kids, Brian and Audrey, for a few days to enjoy the beaches with us.

Hardeeville, SC to Charlotte, SC

June 30, we left the RV Park in Hardeeville and traveled on Hwy 17 to Charlotte, SC. Dry camped in a Walmart parking lot in Mt. Pleasant, SC, on the north side of Charlotte. Vernon unhooked our car so we could take a quick tour of old Charlotte in the afternoon.

The next morning, (July 1), we left the Walmart parking lot about 10 a.m. and headed for Shallotte/Brunswick KOA RV Park near Sunset Beach, NC. Got there about 2 p.m. - it was a rainy drive and a lot of traffic, especially around Myrtle Beach.

Joan, going to church

Left Alabama on June 24 and traveled to Savannah, Georgia, via Macon, Georgia where we dry camped at a truck stop. Savannah is a city with a personality of its own. The old houses and parks, churches, words just can't describe how pretty it is.

We had a couple of meals at the Pirate House, a restaurant that has been around since the mid 1700's. Also went to church the Sunday we were there. Currans went to the Catholic Church, and the Colberts went to the Baptist Church - both VERY old churches.

While in the Savannah area, we stayed at the Hardeeville RV Park in Hardeeville, SC.

Huntsville, Alabama Space Center

Vernon and Jeannie

It was a hot day when we went to the Huntsville Space Center, but it was worth trudging through the heat to see the IMAX movie about the Hubble telescope with its pictures of outer space, and the museum where the hardware is displayed.

On June 13, 2010, we met our friends, Ron and Joan, at the Tiffin Maintenance lot in Red Bay, AL. After a week or so of getting our coaches into shape, we began our trip in the Huntsville, Alabama area. We stayed at the Georgia Mountain RV Park just outside Guntersville.
